The choir will perform arrangements of traditional Lithuanian carols by the patriarch of Lithuanian classical music, Juozas Naujalis, as well as works by other Lithuanian composers. A chamber orchestra will join the choir for a performance of Nijolė Sinkevičius’ “Kalėdų maldos” (“Chistmas Prayers”) and a jazz ensemble will jump in for Artūras Anusauskas’ upbeat arrangement of the traditional “Atsiskubino Betliejun” (“They Hurried to Bethlehem”). The evening’s highlights will also include Franz Biebl’s “Ave Maria” and Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium” (“O Great Mystery”), as well as Latvian composer Jazeps Vitols’ “Dzieviškais mirdzums” (“O Divine Radiance”). Please plan on joining us for this unique celebration of Advent and Christmas.
