The choir will perform arrangements of traditional Lithuanian carols by the patriarch of Lithuanian classical music, Juozas Naujalis, as well as works by Lithuanian composers Vaclovas Augustinas, Kristina Vasiliauskaitė and Jonas Govėdas. A chamber orchestra will join the choir for excerpts from one of the best known and most often performed masterpieces of Western repertoire, George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah”. One of the highlights of the evening is sure to be Craig Hella Johnson’s beautiful fusion of the traditional Advent carol “Lo How a Rose ‘Er Blooming” ("Roželė pražydėjo") with the beloved contemporary hit, “The Rose”.
Please join us for this unique celebration of Advent and Christmas!
