On February 4, 2012, Dainava Lithuanian Chorale presents "Turbūt ne dėl savęs esu" - a unique evening of choral music, poetry, literature, and art on the occasion of February 16, Lithuania's Independence Day. This event will highlight the work of renowned Lithuanian poet Justinas Marcinkevičius, who coincidentally died last year on February 16. During this event, Dainava will perform, among other works, two world premieres: "Brolis" by the choir's artistic director Darius Polikaitis and "Tavo paukštis ir šauksmas" by Lithuanian composer Nijolė Sinkevičiūtė (this is the third of Sinkevičiūtė's works to be premiered by "Dainava"). This event is being organized in partnership with the American Lithuanian Association of Psychological and Spiritual Support and the Lithuanian Consulate General of Chicago.
